Lived Loved Mattered

Chance1

Chance

In Brendon Burchard’s book, ‘The Millionaire Messenger’, he shares of his near death experience and the thoughts that ran through his mind as he wasn’t sure if the end for him was near……

“Did I Live….Did I Love….Did I Matter”

Today, the town I grew up in will be remembering a young man who had a major impact on the lives of others.

One things for sure is he lived…..loved…..and mattered!

You see, I really didn’t know this young man, but I remembered him running around with his mom and dad as a kid ….

I know his aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents…..

I know his friends and those he’s impacted in life.

So why would I write something about a man who I didn’t really know?

Well, when you’re part of something, you are affected in many ways.

We do not need to be tied to the hip to impact others….

Nor do we need to be directly tied to others to feel the impact of all that is good from them.

In life, whether we realize it or not……

We want to live…..

We want to love…..

And when all is said and done….

We want to matter.

Whether you’re from a small town, such as I am….

Or a little fish in the city……

We all have the capability to touch the lives of others in the most special way

We can leave a legacy at any age, and it can be done without it being covered on all the news channels and ESPN.

Many want to always swing for the fences at each at bat, but forgetting to realize a single or double is just as important.

Walking a batter isn’t always a bad thing.

It’s all the little things in life that matter when all is said and done.

And yes, there is more that can be gained from losing a game, than there is in winning a game, for it is there where growth creates the person who we are meant to be.

So as those I know and love are saddened by the loss of this great young man….

Know that it is a blessing to have individuals like this in your life, as you have the opportunity to be such a person for another.

As my hometown “Remembers 21″…….

Remember those who’ve had the same impact in your life, and take that with you as you create today,

For as tomorrow arises you can say……

“Yesterday I LIVED…..

I LOVED……

I MATTERED!”

And blessings to you!

As usual, very profound, thanks for sharing Eddie. You never know when you impact a life, sometimes if can feel like many we are disconnected to others, and its the simple gestures, a smile, a hello, a card that let them know that no matter what they do, they are important to someone somewhere…
